Maya Mitra - Piano & Woodwind

Maya Mitra is a third year Kirby Laing Foundation Scholar at the Royal College of Music and an enthusiastic music teacher.

She has worked on projects with the Tri-Borough Music Hub, outreach with the RCM Sparks scheme, and she teaches privately. She is especially interested in music education in schools.

 

Maya has achieved Distinction in her ABRSM Piano Grade 8 and taken part in an EPTA Piano Competition. She has performed as pianist from a young age and also enjoys accompanying exams and working alongside choirs and soloists.

 

At the RCM, Maya is studying saxophone  with Kyle Horch. She began her musical journey in Nottingham, learning piano, saxophone and clarinet with Alistair Parnell.
